Vinted Shoppers Share Displeasure About Sizing Changes
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size.
The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel without notifying every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Response
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.
Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.
They have suggested members to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Measurement Approach Modifications
Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
User Accounts
A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Another user, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.
Manual Updates
Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Service Background
The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
