Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the region, producing powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Locals observed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.

Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
